Make Do and Mend

The Mother In Law has given us a table and chairs with a big parasol for the garden. The parasol has a couple of holes in places and I'm going to patch them over with some appliqué flowers. I'm using the big flowers because I don't want to attempt invisible mending because, unless you are an expert, it's not really invisible. Better to put a giant flower on it as an artistic statement! Do you make highly visible repairs to things?
