Joking is Okay, but not Disrespecting....

I don't mind when people make fun of me in a friendly way. I know they don't mean any harm and they just want to have a good laugh.
But I can't stand when people insult me or mock me in a mean way and then try to pass it off as a joke. That's not funny, that's rude and hurtful. I have feelings too, you know. If you respect me, you won't cross the line between joking and disrespecting.
And not only with respect to myself, I take an offence even if something is similar done with someone around me, I have a serious issue...

I agree to that. A pure joke doesn't have to be offending. Even though if you are close with one another there still has to be a limit.

That is not acceptable at all, and if you are experiencing that I am sorry. No, there is no excuse for taking a joke too far, and if it is a coworker or acquaintance it may be best for them not to joke in an iffy manner at all. If it is family or friends, I would hope they would be open to hearing they went too far. Most jokes don’t bother me, but occasionally I have a family member who goes too far with everyone.
