Climate Change vs Global Warming

We are seeing weather events in parts of the US that are rare. In my area, Hudson Valley, NY, the number of tornados has greatly increased. Global Warming concerns the layer around the Earth holding in my heat raising the temperatures while I believe climate change could be the after affect. I don’t claim to be an expert, this is just an opinion. Has the weather changed in your area?
