What’s for din?: Frugal date night edition 8.18.2023

We finished up some shopping in Destin and decided that we were getting hungry and then I decided that I wanted tacos but not just any tacos. There is a small Mexican restaurant in Fort Walton Beach called taco town that we went to get a burst time last week and now this is our third or fourth time eating here since then. The last few times that we have eaten there I have gotten the maxi soft tacos and added guacamole. Soft tacos or like $1.69 a piece and then guacamole is like $.50 or a taco or something. But I was a little hungrier today so I decided to try something different and I got what Kris gets every time I get here which is the beef enchilada which is $3.99. I know that’s a very low price but it takes up the whole plate and you get chips and cheese sauce with it. I added sour cream and guacamole on mine so it was a little more expensive, but it was still super cheap and I will eat about half of it. Chris got a beef enchilada as well but he didn’t get the extras like I did. We each got a large drink as well. Usually when we go out and are trying to save money. At least when they’re just simple sit down restaurants or fast food restaurants, we usually only get one large drink but sometimes when we’re extra thirsty or it’s extra hot or it’s extra cheap we get to. So we both ate dinner and I have leftovers. There’s leftover chips and we both got large drinks and I tipped them two dollars for a total of $18 even. So I think that’s a pretty good deal. We have been spending about 13 or 14 bucks when we come here for lunch but this is the first. Date night that we’ve actually called date night in a long time so I think the extra four dollars is OK.
