Day 37 Matthew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he sells all that he has and buys the field.” People love hearing about and searching for lost treasure. Some people have made it their life’s work. Treasures have been found in many areas of the world, in the oceans and land. You can see most of the treasures in museums. Jesus told about a different kind of treasure, the Word of God. He said when you find His hidden treasure you will know joy and will do whatever it takes to secure His treasure. As Christians, God’s Word is your treasure. When you read and study His Word, you hide His treasure deep into your heart so you will always have it with you wherever you go. Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You! Psalm 37:31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps will slide. Deuteronomy 6:6 “These words which I command you today will be in your heart. 7 You will teach them diligently to your children and will talk about them when you sit in your house, when you walk along the way, when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You will bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You will write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” When you read and study God’s Word, you will always have it with you. It will become part of you every moment of your life. John 14:25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance everything I said to you.” The Holy Spirit can teach you nothing if you don’t spend time in God’s Word. Read, study, and pray, and you will find joy in your life. Joy unspeakable and full of glory. Let’s pray: Father, let Your Word sink down into my spirit so that I will always have it available when I need it. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
