Finally! The Hubs Got The Promotion

The husband and I are not new to corporate America's political nature. It's your same old story: people getting promoted or getting the job based on who they know, and not on what they can offer. I know I may be a bit biased here, but I once worked for the same company and experienced it firsthand. Credit grabbing and stealing ideas are encouraged as long as it positively contributes to the bottom figure. It is very toxic that is why I left. The husband, however, has decades of investment in that organization and has more to lose than I do, so he's got no choice but to suck it up. Fortunately, last month, it finally happened for him. He finally got the promotion that he has worked so hard for. It has been a running joke amongst his colleagues that he's always the bridesmaid and never the bride, everyone's in the same predicament but this recent event sort of encouraged everyone that it is possible for the good guys to finish first. Thankfully, it's the job that my husband likes and passionate about, even though less can be said with the organization, or to be more specific with upper management. We can't wait until he's retired and able to do something that his heart wants. He will have the years of service but not the age, when that happens but that's alright. He will always be able to find something better to do than stay there for longer than necessary.

Thank you, it's been a long time and lots of hard work, late nights and missed holidays. It finally paid off, and hopefully he will be successful and happy in his new role.
