The IT department along with the central government in India has issued a notice (which every citizen of India was not alerted about) to link the Adhaar card and pan card by 30th June 23, failing which the pan card would become inoperative, stopping people to open bank accounts, make investments in banks and avail subsidies. Moreover they are charging Rs.1000 for it and will be charging Rs 10000 after December. The first and foremost difficulty most people in India having pan cards are earning non taxable pay payments. For them shelling out Rs.1000 rupees is losing a week's grocery. Additionally these people are not acquainted with the e-filing portal of IT department and are getting confused what to do. Some private companies TDS on their employees and so these people are at a maze what to do as they don't have to bother about their taxes. Senior citizens above 80 are exempted from this rule but even 60s and 70s aren't that tech savvy to use the portal. Isn't this just a trick to overburden the citizens of India? Leving unnecessary fines only because the IT department and the central government wants to earn some easy bucks? As it the citizens of India are overburdened by many indirect taxes.

That's true and that to unnecessary hassle related to old documents which I don't think is essential. It's just a trick to exploit the Indians financially.
