Obsessed With The Trash Bin!

My husband is teasing me that I am obsessed with the trash bin. I assure you, I am not. I just want to make sure that I have the schedule of trash collection correctly, and that I know all the information that I need so they don't reject our stop.
I found out that our trash collection is every Tuesday, between 8-9am. And that the recyclables are every other Tuesday, around the same time. Since we are in a HOA area, there is also restriction as to how long you can have your garbage bin out on the street, even if it's in front of your house.
I told my husband that my particular interest in our trash collection schedule and set-up would save us a headache later on. I'm thinking about neighbor complaints, missed pick-ups, etc. Well, he's probably right that I am overthinking it, but in the end he's thankful that someone is taking the time to check stuff like this.

@AmbiePam Yes, hopefully ours is not one of these. But one thing's for sure, our new home will not be where there is HOA. It just doesn't make sense to me to have that in place and not have full autonomy on what you want to do with your own property, as long as public health and safety is not compromised.

This is our first time in an HOA living situation, until we can move to our house that we actually owned. It will not be for months, so we have to make do with our current situation and make the most out of it. I have heard of the HOA horror stories, and I truly hope that we never get to experience any of those.

I agree, and between my husband and I, it is I who cannot stand trash especially when it starts to stink. I did order a small composting bucket for scraps and wastes that can be composted. It has a carbon filter so it should eliminate the kitchen odor from scraps. We'll see how it works out.

I do not blame you being concerned on when the trash is to be picked up in your area just seeing too much trash in front of my lawn is unbearable.

Sometimes I thought of teaching him a lesson, like say I will purposefully forget about this thing. Then we'll see how he thinks of my "obsession". But then again, like you, I can't bear the sight of trash or an overflowing bin because we did not take care of it.

You need to know stuff like this because you do not need to put your trash out on the wrong day.
