One of my fave Korean dishes is samgyupsal. I first tasted and ate it in 2001 when I had just started my English as a Second a Language (ESL) teaching career with Korean nationals as my learners of English. I think it was an invite of one of my co-teachers that time, when we went Dutch treat for a dinner after a very heavy work from the Korean academy. Now, I prepared my own recipe for it, and I invited my closest friend from Quezon City. She was also my former co-teacher in one of the Korean academies I worked with as an ESL teacher.

I've had it with my husband and siblings when we visited them in the Philippines in 2019. We haven't had one again since, it's more fun to have it when you are with a group of people. We can't finish it just between the two of us. But if ever we have a hankering for some Korean foods, we have lots of choices here. Just this week, I had kimchi fried rice, it was so good and we ended up eating the leftovers for two days.

I enjoy Korean cuisine. I learned to like it while stationed there for 22 months back in the 1980s. My favorite was Bulgogi with a side of Yaki Mandoo.

Yes, that is also my favorite. However, I am avoiding it because hypertension runs in my family.
