Data to Connect

I heard there is a typhoon, which is why it has been raining cats and dogs in the province. I am not sure where the typhoon is or where it will make landfall. It is causing me some anxiety. It is not that bad compared to the previous typhoon, and I hope it stays that way. Regrettably, the power went out about an hour ago. Power outages are common here, and they are becoming increasingly bothersome as time goes. Fortunately, I have enough data to connect to the internet. It is essential for my online job. I'd stay close to the door because the signal is stronger there. I paid Php 99 or $2 for the data, but it was not unlimited. If the GB reaches its limit, I must pay additional Php 99 or choose another internet package.
Do you use data to connect at times?

That's great. We have unlimited internet here as well, however, I use data when the power is down.

Good thing there aren't many power outages where I live and the condo generally has a backup generator for emergencies. I believe power disruptions are quite typical in the provinces, especially during extremely terrible weather. The recent typhoons did not land on our shores, but their winds drew the monsoon rains from the seas, which is why it has been pouring rain for the past few days.

@freelancermariagrace Although it cannot power the whole unit but just a certain power outlet that is working and the lights. But it is better than no power at all.

Yes, it is quite common in provinces. That is the perk of living in the condo. They have a backup generator in case of power interruption.

@freelancermariagrace I have to use my phone data, public places are limited so not everyone can connect. Even in certain locations there is no internet signal at all.

I have unlimited data, so I don’t have to worry about using it all up. But most of the time I’m connected through wi-fi.

@freelancermariagrace I have been lucky in that my internet connection in my home is not connected to my electricity, so even when the power goes out in my house (which is very, very rare) I still have internet connection. My wi-fi will go out periodically, but in those cases I can always connect my computer or laptop to my router/modem.

@moffittjc Indeed, you are lucky. I only depend on the apartment's free Wi-Fi connection. I do not have my own since I do not have plans of staying here forever. LOL.

Yes, likewise. I am connected through wi-fi most of the time, but when the power goes out, the wi-fi connection becomes intermittent.

I only use data when I am traveling, mainly to use it for my phone's navigation. I am in my husband's phone plan, which he gets discount from work as well as military discount. I always rack up the data and so my husband just bumped up our plan to unlimited.

Same thing, however when there is no Wi-Fi, I have no choice but to connect using data, my friend.
