James Keown who is a resident of Louisville Kentucky who worked with the Jefferson County Public Schools for 11 years recently announced his retirement on Sunday after he played a Powerball game at a Circle K store for the August 19 Saturday night drawing. James was able to match the four white balls and the red Powerball number to win $50,000 dollars. Because James played the power play feature on the lottery game which increased his winnings by 2x which became $100,000 dollars. Since by winning the huge lottery prize happened before the start of the school season in Louisville, James was able to contact his employer that because he won the lottery and he and his wife will be working by taking care of disabled cats, he decided to step down as a bus driver. I do not blame James and his wife Monta for his decision to step down as a school bus driver for 11 years to pursue his love for his disabled cats. Link is abc3340.com/news/offbeat/w...

That's actually not much to retire on for two people. It doesn't say how old he is.. I wish him well. Have a good weekend.

The age of James was not mentioned in the story. I agree with you that the lottery money that James won will only go so far taking care of cats.

I need to go find this guy, as I live in Louisville as well. Seriously, the way the school year fiasco started (the last student didn’t get home until 10 PM!!!) there’s no way on this earth anyone would stay in that job as a bus driver after winning a lottery that size.
