What's your Narx Score?

It seems that Artificial Intelligence is now in charge of whether you get pain medication or not. They keep track of everything, your pharmacies, what kind of meds you take and the dosages, There is a complicated schematic to determine if you get the medications you need for pain. AI is in charge of it. That is way too scary for me. Already, doctors have been charged with overmedicating and people are denied any meds at all if their Narx score is high. It takes the human component out of the picture. AI never experiences pain. Do you know your Narx score? Are you scared of what AI is doing to us? How did we get to this point?

I do not think AI is doing anything. It's the humans who implement it who are. I think we got to this point with a mix of greed and a desire to explore the unknown. Because I lack a corpus callosum (band of nerve fibers connecting the right and left hemispheres of the brain), I have a high pain tolerance and threshold. What I perceive as discomfort, you may perceive as pain, and what I perceive as pain you may perceive as intolerable.

That is interesting. I'm glad you don't feel pain. That is an advantage. Can you tell if you are doing something dangerous like touching something hot?

@akalinus Oh, I feel pain. I just have a high pain tolerance and threshold, so I don't cave in as quickly as someone with no or low pain tolerance and threshold.

@Chellezhere Oh, okay. You do need to feel some pain if something happens, you need to know.

I hope I don't get my pain meds taken from me. One refill lasts me 6 months. That's not bad for 90 pills. I don't trust AI. Have a good weekend.

You have a good weekend too. I don't trust AI at all. Its usefulness depends on who controls it.

I’m not worried about it since I’ve never abused my medications. They already could tell most of that without AI so I’m not concerned.

That is the best way to use it. I lost mine which I used for years because they decided it is an opioid. All the years before it became an opioid, it was just a mild/moderate pain killer I used for arthritis and my blinding headaches. Now it is dangerous because they changed its classification. They say to take Tylenol. They can charge more for it and they don't care about me or others that need it.

Lets face it there are alot of medication abusers and doctor shoppers out there. I am not one to abuse prescriptions so I am sure I don't have a high score.

That is true. Because of them, many cannot get the pain relief that they need. I don't know what my score is but I never abused medications.

I am not worried at all about AI as I refuse to worry anymore..what will be will be..we cant stop it. I understand though..it is scary what it can do now in deciding our scores in meds. Still, most people are going to top themselves with Fentanyl overdoses before they ever see any harm from AI.

I find AI scary. My friend put a joke on FB. It was just a joke about a candy bar changing its name so it doesn't offend people who don't work. The Fact Checker said the candy company did not change the name and hid the post. I know that is AI. AI does not understand but is starting to control everything online.

That is scary. I don't take pain med, but I do take birth control. I did have med for hepatitis C. Yeah I was going to write a post about AI, but I haven't yet. Maybe I will next week.
