Prison break

British citizen Daniel Khalife, a 21 -year-old ex army recruit, was facing a long prison sentence on terrorism charges in the U.K relating to procuring serving soldiers names and addresses with a view to passing them on to known terrorist groups. He was on remand in Wandsworth Prison awaiting his trial. He escaped last month, hiding beneath a laundry truck, straight from the movies. We caught him fairly quickly. He said he escaped because 'prison was boring and he didn't like it'. But get this - he pleaded not guilty to escaping prison even though he was caught on the outside of the prison 5 miles away!! Why is he not just returned to prison and given more years on his eventual sentence for that ? Why do we need to waste money on a court case that will clearly show him guilty!

Some of the things that leave everyone questioning the court system, For a guy like this I would lock him up straight away and throw away the key.

Like here, it boggles the mind. Yes return the sod to prison with more years, to say the least. They need to stop treating scum like movie stars.

@thedevilinme It shows he was bored , mind out of control... What he did was treason. It is awesome that police officers caught him 5 miles away ., that is really appreciated.

They should add time to his sentence and not waste time on a trial.

By pleading not guilty he has more of a chance of receiving a longer term in prison on the original charge plus escaping from lawful custody will ensure any sentence he receives for escaping will be added to that too. Unfortunately thats the law innocent unless proven guilty.

If he is outside the prison hes guilty. Why the costly trial?

@thedevilinme Agree but there will be some smart creep of an over paid lawyer who would be demanding his human rights are being abused. He is on remand at the moment so has not been sentenced for his original crime yet. Absconding sentence will be added to his original sentence once that trial has taken place.r

It is ridiculous to waste further tax payers money. It put me in mind of the great train robbery when Buster and co escaped BTW I am gillygirl I had to have a new account as I became ill and lost my passwords I was in hospital over a month

I don’t see how he could pled not guilty when he was clearly outside the prison.
