Now think for a second this question is just a question about water powers. While doing my search on water power and things that merman/mermaids could do with water I came across a small lot.
1. using your mind or hands to move and control water
2. use water to make portals to travel through
3. heat water up
4. make water cold or turn it to ice
5. turning water into air
There are others but these seemed to be the easiest for me to work with especially with 5 guys being the topic of which all this water is centered around.
now if you happened to be a mermaid/merman what kind of water power would you want?
personally, I like the traveling one with water portals it sounds like it would be fun. But also keeping water hot whenever want sounds nice as well.

While it would be nice to keep the water around you warm, you would have to watch it. That would make me nervous about possible losing control and making water boil or turn to steam. Water bending is kind of interesting though.

If you have the abiltiy to warm water it doesn't mean you can't control how hot or not as hot. Its power so that means your in control of it the same with making water cold or turning it ice. It depends on how much you put behind it. Also when its your own power it won't hurt you it would be others but that is where you have to learn control just like when doing anything you have to learn control. Yes control of water with your mind and hands would be cool.

@RasmaSandra Doesn't that sound fun? My second choice is heating water up I could fill a tum with cold water and make it warm to the temp I like without the help of a wanted heater.

I would go around making the water at a perfect temperature for the sea life.
