The first thing I should do is apologize for this one. No, I didn’t write it, but this wasn’t a hit. If I’d just keep my trap shut you’d never be tormented with this one. But I suffered, and so should you! Here’s today’s funny song. #4: Watching Joey Glow - Steve Goodman He may have borrowed the title from Mac Davis’ “Watching Scotty Grow,” but that’s all Steve Goodman took from that. This is pure hilarity. I have a live recording where he did this song, and did it in a much slower tempo. That made it funnier. His introduction to this song: “This is a song about a post-nuclear nuclear family. Mom, dad, sister, brother, and little Joey, the human hot plate.” That’s about all I want to tell you about this one…except don’t have anything in your mouth during the second bridge. Steve Goodman obviously had a great sense of humor (as evident by one of his best-known compositions, “You Never Even Call Me By My Name”).
