I just got a phone call from Petaluma Health Center, who reffered me to get a CaT scan at the hospital, saying that the hospital contacted them saying I needed to come in early for a pre-op? Pre-op??? I'm having a CaT scan, not an operation. I guess I'll find out what on earth they're talking about when I go this afternoon... Never mind, I called. I told the lady what the Health Center person said, and she went to talk to the radiologist, who evidently was not available, so she said when she got ahold of the radiologist, he/she would call me back. Okay, then. Jus s-s-st weird.

Sometimes they use contrast dye. So there's a series of questions they like to ask to make sure you can tolerate the dye. If they want an EKG first, to ensure your heart can handle it, then maybe that's what they mean by pre-op. I used to get MRi's without contrast, and I had to answer a series of questions before the tech would put me in the machine.

Yes, I've since figured that out--and they are using dye.

@kaylachan It actually wasn't as bad as it was when I was a kid.
