Today I went shopping down town again. My Mum reckoned it was going to be a lot cooler out and advised me to wear my coat. I wore my heavy black winter coat. So I set off. I went on the top path round Stowe Pool again. When I was about half way I was accosted by a couple of Mormons! They were good looking Mormons with perfect teeth, but that's not the point! They were probably only in their early 20's. I knew what they were as soon as they stopped me because they had badges on saying CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS. So they started to extol the virtues of the book of Mormon at me. They reckon that when Jesus rose again, he went and visited the America's, and I said, Oh, really? thinking, hmmm, when did that happen! I was trying to explain why the Bible is the only true word of God and they were asking me why I believed that and ... you know when you're backed into a corner, and you don't know what to say? I was hoping my Pastor Steve would come and rescue me but he never did! I was trying to get away, but they just kept on talking! They must have realised I wanted to get going because I kept looking at my watch and moving my trolley slowly away! Anyway, they kept me talking there for about 20 minutes!
At last they gave up, and I managed to get away. I went to the toilet by the Cathedral (I was bursting by now!) I was getting hot so I took my coat off! Then I went to Holland and Barrett and got some liquorice for my Mum and some for me. My Mum said she'd like one of the little packets of liquorice, because they don't tend to stick together like they do in the big packets, but just because we wanted them they were out of stock, and I had to get the big packets instead! My Mum also wanted a bar of sugar free milk chocolate, some sugar free strawberries and cream flavoured sweets and some sugar free coconut cookies! I also got a little box of sugar free Elderflower flavoured sweets. When I payed for them the lady at the till gave me a Scottish £5 note in the change. She said, Oh, you've got a Scottish one, that makes a change! And I said, does it matter, and she said, I don't think so, no.
After that I was going to go and have a look in Waterstones book shop, just for a look, not to buy anything. As I was heading in that direction I saw the street preacher guy and that lady I've seen before that I gave the Answers magazine to. So I went up to her and told her all about my encounter with the Mormons!
Then I went into Waterstones and had a look round. I had a look at the art section and looked at a couple of books about Constable. I would love to.be as good as him, but that might be a stretch! Then I looked at the Sci-Fi books. I found some of Noel Fitzpatrick (the Supervet)'s books in the biography section. I found a large print NIV Bible, but it didn't have a price on it. I didn't buy anything.
Then I went to Iceland (the shop not the country!) and got a Chinese style chicken curry and a sweet and sour chicken for my Mum and step-dad to have for their dinner tonight. I got some strawberries from Iceland because my Mum thought it would be a little bit of a waste of time going into Tesco just for strawberries.
After I'd payed for those I went back to the toilet by the Cathedral and then I headed off for home. I was rather wary when going back round Stowe Pool incase those Mormons were still around, but I didn't see them!
When I got home, I gave my Mum her change and her shopping list, told her about the Scottish £5 and told her about being accosted by the Mormons! Then I unpacked the groceries, gave my Mum her liquorice, sweets and chocolate and put the coconut cookies underneath the choc chip ones that Mum hasn't finished yet. I put the strawberries in the fridge and the chicken meals on the side ready for tonight.
In my letters that were on the sofa I found my new exemption certificate which I show to the pharmacy when I get my repeat prescription to prove that I don't have to pay for my medicine. I can start using that straight away because it's valid from August and it expires in 2028. I also got a note from Paul from art class! Sending that note to the organiser of the art class worked, so thank you to everyone who advised me to go ahead and send that! We are now going to keep in touch and update each other on how we are getting on with our art!
What have you lot been getting up to?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.

@Gilljane The washing machine came, but the guy couldn't disconnect the old one because he couldn't turn the stopcock off and now we've got to wait till Wednesday for a plummer to come and do it! But we have the new washing machine, and at the moment it's living in the garage wrapped in bubble wrap until the old one can be disconnected!

@sharonelton The better way to escape the Mormons would have been to say, “Oh I really need to get to the toilet by the Cathedral or I’m going to wet myself”. Or ask them out on a date, both at the same time. There are lots of ways of messing with people.

Thank you very much. I was glad when I could get away! They believe some strange things those Mormons!
I'm glad I've heard from Paul and I'm going to reply to him and give him my mobile number and I will post that on Tuesday when I go to the little Tesco.

Yes! I'm so happy! I'm going to write back and give him my mobile number and tell him what art I've been doing recently and I'll post that on Tuesday when I go to the little Tesco!
I'm so glad I listened to you too.
I hope you enjoy your day with nothing going on!
