Autumn arrived! I have Red out (a Red Skelton hoodie I got at the museum in Vincennes, Indiana) to take the bite off. I know what can warm anyone up: a good song! How about another song with “ain’t” in the title? It’s always good to include this gentleman in the countdown! Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby - Elvis Presley Ivory Joe Hunter and Elvis Presley. What a combination!!!! I love Ivory Joe Hunter’s music. I was introduced to him courtesy of country singer Sonny James, who covered a number of Hunter’s songs. And, of course, Elvis. You probably don’t remember this song because (a) it came out at the start of Beatlemania and (b) it didn’t make the top ten. Elvis actually recorded this in 1958 (there were a lot of songs stockpiled while he was in the Army), but it wasn’t released for six years. That’s why it might sound out of place compared to the other songs of the mid-60s from Elvis. But it sounds good, that’s for certain. Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby Written by Ivory Joe Hunter and Clyde Otis Recorded by Elvis Presley Released as a single, 1964 Nine lives like an alley cat:

Always loved Elvis but he sang so many songs that I could not keep up. This is one I have not heard,

This was one of the under-the-radar songs, comparatively speaking.

I do not know why, but my parents really disliked Elvis, I even remember when he passed away, my Dad would get up and change the channel if they spoke of him on the news on television. I remember that, and wondering what is a commode? Of course the word 'toilet' was not used on the news in those days.

A lot of people of the “older generation” blamed Elvis for “juvenile delinquents” rising in the 1950s (although I watched a documentary about the juvenile delinquents in the 1940s last night ). And I personally like the British term, the loo.
