Before I sign off, I just want to share my cooking stunt tonight. My niece keeps on nagging about making "leche flan" or caramel custard. This is my first attempt to do it. Of course, I need to check out how to make it on YouTube. I must say it was a successful one. It is another milestone for me to learn something new. I used four pieces of "llanera" or plainman. I wish I could share a photo of them. Have you ever tried to make this kind of dessert before?

That looks good. My sister asked me last week to do some but it was not materialize due to conflict of schedules... Maybe by next day, I'll be available to do the tasks if the ingredients are still available ...

It would be great to do this. I am planning to do another kitchen experiment within next week or by next week.

I love it and rest of the family, too. It was not that difficult to do. You can try it some time.

Caramel mustard doesn't sound too appetizing I must admit.

It's my mistake. We call it "caramel custard." It would be appealing if you remove the word mustard and change it to custard.

Mustard ? I know what leche and flan is . . . I'm just curious where the mustard comes in. I've had the Mexican (I think) version . . . we've made it but it was from a mix in a box .

I am sorry. I was so sleepy last night. It is a typographical error. It is called "caramel custard." I just tried the simple way of doing it. But I will try the traditional one next time.

@much2say The word flan is commonly used here. I also tried to find another word, which is the custard. I am trying to have slow food as much as possible.

It's my fingers fault to type mustard. You are so right that it is "caramel custard."
