Mother Daughter Date

My daughter and I recently went to Japanese ramen restaurant nearby that's fairly new. She had chicken shoyu ramen and I had chicken katsu on. It was very good. I also had Thai iced tea that I thought was expensive - 36% the cost of my meal. But, I have to say I absolutely LOVED it! I wanted more, but not at that price. The donburi was excellent and she loved her ramen. I only didn't get seaweed in mine. I asked them to leave that off. We were served less than 10 minutes after ordering. We were both impressed. Glad that you both had a good time. That tea is expensive, thankfully you liked it at that price.
Mike and I recently tried a new place, opened just over a year, close to us. It is part Thai part Chinese. Neither of us were that impressed with it. The portions would good for the prices charged but the food was over salted and super greasy. At least we tried it now.

It's always disappointing to look forward to a new place only to not like it. I had had katsu don before, so generally knew what I was getting. I was surprised that she liked ramen - that kind of ramen. She and I had only been to hibachi grills where she'd get lo mein cooked as she liked and the packaged ramen here at home. I had never seen fresh and authentic ramen soup before. I looked at their menu before we went to make sure there was something I could choose. I didn't know what to expect. It was delicious, though. Next time, if there is one, I'll get the katsu and curry and maybe gyozas.
