Today I had poppy seed fry called posto bora in bengali, bottle gourd curry called lau in bengali and rice. I also had buili dal called lentil in India. The lau in bengali is called lauki in hindi. It is a watery vegetable but having food value. The poppy seed fry makes one feel sleepy.

@sathviksouvik For me all vegetarian dishes are fine. Actually I just thought i had no personal liking for anything in extreme . Anything that tastes good is welcomed by my taste buds

You make my mouth water. I had that dish so many times in my Bengali friend's house. I love aloo posto. One of my Bengali friend stays in Singapore and she misses posto so much there. It's illegal there.

thanks Arunimaji you are spot on. The dishes you mentioned are hot favourites for many people. There is another dish made with turai called jhinge aloo posto. You also cook mouth watering dishes

@sathviksouvik I have eaten jhinge aloo posto. It's delicious! I have grown up with Bengali friends and even now I have few in neighborhood. We share our dishes. I get to taste Bengali food frequently. My bua stays in Kolkata. They are settled there for generations now. They have a lot of influence of Bengali cooking in their kitchen.
