Monotonous tune but a happy announcement

Our local government has arrangement for garbage collection every day All wet garbage is collected on all days except Thursday On Thursdays dry garbage is collected. We only give the dry garbage and use the wet garbage to create compost As the truck approaches there is a monotonous tune emanating from the truck which is a recording. Although the tune is jarring the fact that garbage is being cleared one takes it in one's stride. What's your story?

Our apartment dumpster is emptied three times a week, but we usually just hear their engine, and that’s how we know it is being emptied.

@allknowing It would be too hard here with so many people. We just put it in a large green bin, out of sight, until the truck comes by.

It is fantastic that they separate the garbage into wet and dry.

@allknowing Yes, it is understandable but they have means to collect it separately which is great.

That sounds like a good arrangement! I like the idea of categorize the garbage to wet and dry. It's good, so that the garbage can be reused. Here, the garbage trucks collect the garbages on alternate day, except Sundays. We are not required to categorize the garbages here. But I try to separate some recycle items, as I saw the trucker workers do categorize some of the garbages they collected. Recently, there's another truck that comes every Tuesday to collect some recycle items, such as papers and cardboards, metals, glass and plastic items. I think that's good. Our garbage trucks here do not play any music or tune, so we might not know the truck is coming, unless we hear the sound of the engine or the dogs barking. Good to have some music or even monotonous tune playing.

Earlier I used to get irritated but now it no longer bothers me. They have given us sacks for dry garbage which we empty on the truck when arrives and use the same sack again and for wet garbage a bucket is provided.
