A match that promised a lot of exciting action. Yet ended in a lopsided contest.
South Africa won by a big margin of 134 runs vs Australia.
Quinton De Kock scored 109 of 106, Aiden Markram made a quick 44 ball 56.
In response to South Africa's 311 in 50 overs, Aussies were bowled out for 177 only.
Kasigo Ranada took 3 wickets.
Australia have lost their initial two matches and need to get into act fast.
May be their batsmen are failing on slow tracks or they are short of a spinner.
Proteas on the other hand are at the top with a superb run rate and look like a big contender for the title.

It seems Australia is already contended after winning the World Test Championship.
Since then, they have not been performing to their full potential in ODI cricket. Dont feel Pat Cummins is as effective in ODIs as he is in tests. Their key issue is lack of quality spinners and their middle order often collapsing. Also they have built their team a lot around al rounders and somehow that is not working for them.
South Africa seems a great side right now, and much-balanced one.

I saw a few highlights of the South Africa vs Australia match.
South Africa looks a stronger contender now with batsmen like Quinton De Kock, Bavuma, Aiden Markram and a potent bowling attack - Marco Jansen, Kasigo Ranada, Ngidi.
I think they can give a tough challenge to India, England and Kiwis.
Today, due to a dramatic Pakistan Middle order collapse, good Indian bowling and a rapid fire 86 of 63 by in form Hitman Rohit Sharma led to a big Indian win.
As of now, Kiwis, South Africa and India look top contenders for the cup although England and Pakistan can still be the contenders.

Yes the Aussies do seem to be lacking a few things.
I think Steve Smith could again have been tried as a captain.
They are also missing Travis Head.
Also they should have got another spinner.
Commentators talk about left arm spinner Ashton Agar being left out as not a good decision.

There is an interesting bit.
Cricket would be a new additional Sport in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
May be I will bring a new post about that.

Australia seem to be playing their red ball test match side in this white ball event

They are back with a win vs Sri Lanka.
Australia vs Pakistan would be a key match for the Aussies.
