What you don't want to do!

So, today was the whole school reunion for a high school that I only sort of attended. "Sort of?" I hear you say. Let me explain. From at least the 1930s, and I think before, there was a girls Catholic high school called St. Mary's Academy. Then, because there were so few girls going, it decided to go co-ed and changed its name to Holy Cross High School. In the fall of 1968, my brother asked to go there. Four weeks into that semester, after being so bullied in the public school, I asked to also go there. Well, after that semester, he was kicked out, but little mouse me stayed. It was one of the best things I ever did and, to that point, the best thing. I did my senior year back at the public school, but apparently I had managed to change myself enough that it took the entire fall semester for the bullies to realize who I was. So, I actually went to Holy Cross, but it was just the... married... name? I mean, there were boys there. Now another quick history lesson. When St. Mary's was a big, going thing (ha ha) there was a boys school called St. Edwards that was located on the campus of the college of St. Edwards. St. Eds - as it was almost always called - was located south in town, St. Mary's was north. I have posted about my old school becoming a luxury hotel now. If you want to look up articles about it, it is here: I actually volunteered for both the St. Mary's committee and the Holy Cross one. So, after the luncheon at one of my favorite restaurants I hung around. But, finally I left. As I was walking along, I decided I needed to find my car keys. Don't do that. Just DON'T!!! I stubbed my foot (in a shoe, it didn't hurt) and face planted on the sidewalk. I broke my nose. Not badly, but broken none the less. So, how was your Saturday?

I enjoyed my Saturday completing the required number of surveys which is 30 surveys before Sunday when my pay day is submitted on Sunday evening.

That's good. I never seem to qualify for surveys. My wife used to get some and ended up with some gift cards. Not me... maybe I'm too honest?

@ElicBxn That is probably why we fail to make money on surveys because I am too honest.

Oh my! I hope your nose heals okay!! I've had a broken nose before and it had to be re-broken and re-set to heal! You should have it checked out!

@kareng yeah, I looked at it and decided that it probably needed a professional to look at it.

I did. While I didn't have my insurance card on me at the time, the EMS people suggested that I should have my nose looked at by a doctor. I went home to get my info and then to a minor emergency place. They x-rayed my nose and that was how I know it is broken. Not badly broken, but broken.

I hate those face plants on sidewalks... I didn't break my nose, just my armature...

I didn't have time to tense up, but normally I get my head back before I hit the ground. This time I had been looking down, so my face didn't get out of the way. And MAN do I hurt this morning. The pain in my side is way worse, but I think I can wait until Tuesday when I already have a doctor's appointment.

@BarBaraPrz a nice man did call 911 for me and the EMTs checked me out, but I refrained from going. For one thing, I wouldn't have a way back to my car and, like I have said, I didn't have my insurance card with me. I didn't think I was too badly injured. In fact, I expected my nose to blow up more than it has, but I can still wear my glasses!

Ouch! I haven't broken a bone in a long time, and I don't relish the idea of doing it again.

I haven't broken one since 1976, I wish I had been able to continue the streak...

@ElicBxn Yeah, my last one was in 75. I could have fractured my tailbone one time and may have, but didn't get it checked out

@snowy22315 not a whole lot you can do about that... I may have broken a toe, but taping it to the toe next to it is all that can be done too.

It just went quickly but I noticed it didn't change anything. I got bored.

It is only a minor break, not a sideways break so it doesn't need to be reset. I think if there had been more going on they might've been more insistent. A lot of bits and pieces of me hurt, but the nose is the worst.
