The vibrant bougainvillea

Those were the days when our garden was lit with different shades of the bougainvillea and now I have no hopes that I will have a repeat of this. It is already November and I have yet to see these flowers in our garden There was just a bract of the purple bougainvillea that dared to climb above the trees and hopefully we hope to see more of it. The other bushes are below the trees and added to this we have had rains that the bougainvillea just do not like. Have to be satisfied with what blooms and move on

These plants thrive in our climate, and the flowers bloom almost all year. However, they bloom primarily during the summer or dry season.

When the weather is normal they start blooming soon after rains have subsided.

@allknowing I see here I can see them around the countryside as a very common plant in houses. I seem to always see them in full bloom, especially during summer time.

Very beautiful flowers. Why is it that there are no flowers this year? Too much or too little rain?

It is one of my favorite flowers but I have a hard time to get a lot of bloom. I love peach and color white bougainvillea

Bangalore keeps getting rain throughout, but somehow Bougainville do well here with little or no care. I like the fact that they have low maintenance. Recently one new neighbour has moved in the next building penthouse. They have beautiful orange shade on their terrace and a part of it hangs on to my side too. Just love that.

Bougainvillea always added colour to our garden. It is only now because of unseasonal rains they do not show up on time.

@arunima25 The cluster near the gate is also of three different colours. I am waiting patiently for them to bloom In the good old days they all bloomed together with hardly any leaves showing

@allknowing I have three shades at present in my garden. They are dark pink, light pink and purple. Recently I got them trimmed and all together in one huge pot. They look good together
