I had the occasion once to see trees that produced cocoa pods. We also saw cocoa pods being dried. The inside of a cocoa pod is interesting It contains pulp and seeds.
While the pulp can be consumed raw the seeds need to be roasted before eating but in practice hardly anyone eats them
The pulp is used for making jams, juices, and even ice creams. Being a chocolate foodie I was happy to see where my chocolates came from
Have you eaten cocoa pulp?

@allknowing Hope you ate one for me!!! I would love to tour a chocolate factory, but they would never be able to get me out of there. It would take a super huge bribe to get me to even think about leaving. Unless they were able to lock me in the bathroom when I had to use it.

@BearArtistLady I may as well tell you how badly I behaved I was sitting in the front row and the guy was talking about how chocolates after we toured around After his lecture a tray was passed with chocolates. I grabbed a handful without realising those in the back rows got none
Bad behaviour right? But at the same time you will understand the greed of a chocolate goodie lover

A lot of what grows here grows in in Phillippines too. If you look around you will find atleast one tree.

No, haven't eaten cocoa pulp. It would be interesting to see how chocolates are made.
