Infected Florida Fruit

Whenever I order my groceries I mostly stick to canned, jarred, or frozen fruit because I order only once a month. Now I think that is a good idea. I just read today about three kinds of fruit sold at major Florida retailers that have been linked to a listeria outbreak. From the people who have eaten this fruit eleven people are hospitalized and one died. The fruit involved are whole peaches, plums, and nectarines that have now been recalled. To read more information please click on the link.

I heard about a similar thing happening with a Fruit here some years back. Quite a worrying news. I hope things are under control now.

@allknowing that is the biggest problem you cannot know by looking at the fruit and these were mostly in clear plastic packaging

Something to worry about. In this era of factory farming, it seems a lot more common than when I was young

Thank you for posting this. We don't buy fresh fruit; but I'm sure many here do. Have a great day.

It's so much safer since canned and jarred are heated and kill them. I wish there was a way to safely preserve lettuce.

Luckily, I am not in the mood for peaches, plums, or nectarines, but I will avoid them for a bit when I am.
