It's possible you were unaware that this month saw the debut of the world's first electric air taxi in New York City. This is a low-noise aircraft that is literally inaudible to those of us who are flying in the sky. It was designed by Joby, who proudly displayed its 160 km/h speed and 100 times quieter operation than a standard helicopter. It costs the same to ride on, incidentally, as a ride-sharing trip. Any thoughts about it? Image Credit: robbreport.com

With cars going electric, it was only a matter of time before aircraft were too.

I agree. It seems like a movie turned to a reality. Batman can use it with a good transition of this kind of aircraft.

That's cool! New York is a busy and crowdy city. I hope this air taxi can really help a lot to the public traffic. Of course meanwhile it shall be safe at first. I think tourists will be much more interested in it.

I wondered if they can sustain the maintenance. Imagine the cost fare is just like ride-sharing in the city.

I am quite scared if ever. I hope that they develop more and show the safety procedures.
