Didn't feel the need

Just part of the course of being an author is sometimes it's hard to find the words that are needed to tell a story. Sometimes that means stepping back for a few days and letting life happen. I knew the story was right there at the tip of my fingertips but couldn't find it. Well, last night it finally came after a week of reading, cleaning, parenting, cooking, and doing everything else like normal. Finally, that spark of a moment came and I found what was needed to end one chapter and start the next chapter. It's emotional so I probably did need that break and found the right song for this part of the book.

I know what you mean. Taking breaks while writing can boost your reasoning level and help you find the right words. Keep up the good work.

Yes and know. A lot of times authors feel they have to write every day but sometimes the idea is there but the words just don't seem to be flowing. It's better to write when you are there. I can always jot ideas or where I want to go but sometimes stepping back and rereading what I have or even I find a lot of times just read for my pleasure resparks things. It's also okay for other authors to hear another author tell them it's okay to just go with the flow. If that day is a day you veggie out then do it. Don't force yourself to make things happen when you can't. I do feel if it's something emotional that takes a few days to not only process for yourself but for your characters. I know what my character is going through isn't easy and that can be draining.

@septabchips for the most part. I don't like marketing.
