In winter I love mocha which is a dish of banana flower.

In Bengal banana flower dishes are very popular. They are called mocha. My mother peels of the individual flowers which have matchstick like stems. Then they are cooked with peas and coconut. The mocha curry is a lovely vegetable. There is another dish called mocha chop. The banana flower is fried with cornflower and it tastes delicious.

thanks Cheung when the peel is extracted it looks like flower that is why it is called banana flower merry christmas happy new year
