Dummy bomb located in a beach in California

This story is kind of odd since the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office (SCSO) received an emergency call from a concerned citizen who saw what appeared to be a bomb that was on the sand of Parajo Dunes on New Year's Eve.
The SCSO sent a bomb disposal unit to exam what appeared to be a live bomb which turned out to be a dummy bomb that washed up on the beach due to the harsh weather on the weekend.
The disposal bomb unit officer did contact the officers at Travis Air Force Base who did determine that the dummy bomb was used by the United States Navy during World War II.
Thank goodness it was just a dummy bomb and not a real bomb since it would have been a news story on the evening news of a terrorist act.

I would have been scared myself if I saw what appeared to be a bomb on a beach myself.

The officials in the area are saying that due to the storms that hit the area, more debris related to World War II will surface on the beach soon.

A plastic bomb that is used by the military is practice war sessions. Basically a dud.
