Yes, we were supposed to get snow. The word "supposed" is very lost in this part of Virginia. As of right now, we are getting just rain. It could always turn into snow later on and with the current temp, I don't think the ground is cold enough for snow to physically stick but probably be mostly likely be slush with it being 36 degrees outside. 32 degrees is when it's supposed to snow temperature-wise. I've already told the kids today they need to stop complaining about where to go or what to do. My husband and I were firm on we are not going anywhere today with the weather the way it is because we both know how some people get a bit crazy over the idea of snow and it's not worth going out unless we need to. If they keep complaining I roll back their bedtime. I listed off several things they can do inside the house or they can go stand in the rain.

Do not risk any injury by being outside in the rain or snow since it is dangerous to deal with and law enforcement officers as well as first responders are likely only to make rescue calls if it safe to do so.

It wasn't snowing yet and it didn't snow yet. We could have gone out but like I told the kids most people in the area we live in don't know how to drive even in wet weather not snow weather just wet. The idea of snow to many in this area is like saying we are getting a blizzard and they need to be rude and crazy to get a shovel and salt as well as the essentials. Police and EMS will answer all emergency calls regardless of weather. Weather doesn't affect which calls they do or do not answer. We have also no emergency phone numbers you can call if it isn't an emergency put needs to be addressed. Like a popped tired. Rainy weather that turns to snow but hasnn't turned to snow doesn't change our response team members because they are trained for all weather responses plus the station as well as the transportation station have a weather system tv so they can watch the weather in real-time, they also have different systems and filter all the calls through them as well as 911. So if police are only needed they will show up, if EMS is then it's either fire and rescue or just rescue showing up. Also, it helps to know if you do need to go out which roads in your area are emergency roads they get hit first with road removal of snow or anything else.
