Her hair was a golden blonde hue
her eyes were a deep and stunning
nearly midnight shade of blue
Every eye was on her,
in every room she walked into
But it never gave her an ego,
never went to her head
She kept in mind from an early age
something her Daddy often said
"Everybody is equal, in the eyes of Love"
It's a lesson we could all use a lot more of
.
She never met a stranger, She called everybody friend
Anytime someone needed someone to listen,
She always had time,a heart, and an ear to lend

Your poem reminds me of Pearl. S. Buck's 'Home to Heaven' character Phyllis. A simpleton with whom David Lin falls in love with, for being herself. She unlike her other sisters, is untouched by the flamboyance and luxuries her banker father boasts of and follows norms disinterestedly. She has a job elsewhere and enjoys her financial freedom with a sense of responsibility.
Without showing the slightest impudence at the party, she maintains the customary behavior with the guests who offered to dance with her and David, when he was trying to woo her. She entertained nothing of fad and flavor which young girls of her age are usually prone to, making David find it difficult to break through the veil. It was only later that his persistence, his respectful demeanor and attention worked.
The story has a beautiful ending. The description of her physical appearance brings to mind the image of a lily, tall, majestic and yet tender and delicate.
