My fourth toe on my right foot is throbbing I am not sure if it is swollen but the pain is quite a bit I went through the Net to find out what the cause could be and it is pointing to some nerve damage There are suggestions to take care of it and one of them is a cold compress I have to do it for twenty minutes three or four times a day Hope it will help me.

Is it red and extremely painful? It could possibly be gout. Look it up and see if your symptoms match. Good luck to ya and hope you feel better.

Gout is normally the big toe. I have an issue with the fourth toe.

@allknowing It can land anywhere, I’ve seen a couple family members suffer thru this, they always looked miserable. Either way, hope you got to the bottom of it.

Get well soon and hope cold compress could help. Have you gone to a doctor just in case he/ she can give you a better option and medicine .

Try to limit how much you walk on that foot, and elevate it while you have ice on it .This reduces swelling, if there is any.

If it's nerve issue, I think a light warm oil message with garlic will bring it down. The massage has to be very gentle.

Do you think another possibility could be arthritis? I hope the pain goes away for you.
