Fishing

I absolutely love to fish! This was something I spent a lot of time with my cousins, and with my mom doing every spring, summer, and fall. I never caught very much, but it was just fun being out in the beautiful weather with family and friends. I loved taking my journal along and spending the time writing while waiting for a bite. Then as I got more into photography, it was my camera that I loved to take along. I am one of those gals who can bait her own hook, take her own fish off the hook, and keep fishing. I never did mind getting my hands dirty. My mom and I would go fishing a lot oh her days off. We would pack everything we wanted to take except the cold foods the evening before. Then we would wake up early, before sunrise to pack up the cold foods and the last-minute things. We would take off to the lake in the next town, get our bait, and head out to one of our many favorite fishing spots. Throughout the day we might move to other spots, depending on how much the fish were biting or not. If it wasn't the best fishing day, we would just get in the car and drive around the entire lake, which was a big lake. We always came home relaxed, a bit sun burned, and happy. These days, it is hard to find friends who like to go fishing so it has been many years since I have had that kind of fun. Do you like fishing?

I have only been fishing twice, but recently my 12 year old niece asked my dad to take her fishing. I think he would consider it a privilege to do so. I really hope she enjoys it, and appreciates the process.
