House hunting at 68 years old is not easy. Especially when your income is not as nice as you wish it were. When I was younger, I did not mind a bit of a fixer upper. But it is a lot of work I am not able to do anymore. But it is the fixer uppers that are most affordable. I have never bought a house on my own before. This is going to be interesting.

too much work involved in moving at our age & there's

OUT of debt after 30 yrs of living py ck to py ck, I'm DONE.

I keep watching those house flipping shows and design competitions. They look like so much fun, but then I can't do anything that extreme. A little paint here and there is probably all I can handle. Here in this area, there is a Christian group of churches that has started a work of helping people who need help, especially if they are low income. I would have to have their help to move. I think the organization might be national, but not sure. Each area has their own chapter/franchise. It is called Love, Inc. I am also not sure that anyplace would give me a loan at my age. Certainly not a 30 year loan. I'd be 98 at the end of that. LOL It is a big prayer and faith thing. I just do not want to rent anywhere anymore. Especially in some apartment building like I am now. Too much noise, too little privacy, and too much risk of someone burning the place down.

@2ndchances24 I don't have any loan yet. I don't know if I will be able to get one. If not, then it will be some kind of rental, but I do not want to be in any kind of apartment building again.
