Why should Google read our personal messages?

Google reads our personal messages exchanged in Gmail. They will categorise them. They will even send reminders if a mail is not read or attended to. I find this odd and I wonder if there is a way we can stop them from snooping around Is there a human being that reads our messages? Now with AI I wonder what else they will do. Are you comfortable with this?

I have gmail myself along with millions of others & NO I'm not happy about it, but there SHOULD be a way of SOME sort to fix the problem but I couldn't tell you, unless you go on you tube to see if you could find it there, other wise I d K. I guess you COULD go to duck duck go & make a email on their site, cause that's what I have for all my sites & it's pretty good & easy to work with.

It is always said that email is about as private as sending a postcard, i.e. not really private at all. I'm not that surprised really, and I don't know if it can be stopped. If you want something to be really private, send an old-fashioned letter! (and then ask the recipient to burn it after reading).

@allknowing Well what I mean is yes we can 'make changes' by selecting certain things on our screens in settings or wherever, but how do we know that those actions really actually change anything in reality? Surely it would be easy to create a little box that people could check to say they wanted to opt out, but it could be just that - a little box on the screen.

I wonder how they did it. There are so many Gmail messages. Cannot be done by human beings.

There is a way out - I just found out You need to go to your settings and disable that which allows them to do that

You could be right there but when you are told you need to respond to a mail that was received days ago makes one wonder though Anyway there is a way out. You just need to go to your settings and disable that which allows them this freedom.
