Do Best Friends Make the Best Spouses?

Sometimes I see people who are best friends and are afraid to take the relationship into the romantic side. They seem to be afraid of ruining their friendship. In my opinion, I think it is better to marry your best friend than to be afraid of it.
I have also seen couples who are married, but their best friends are other people.
Since Valentine's Day is coming, I thought this is a good topic. Can best friends stay best friends if the become lovers? Shouldn't married couples be best friends? Is it okay to say that someone other than their spouse is their best friend when they are married? What makes being best friends fight becoming more than best friends?

people marry their best friends cause they know them a lot more
than they know a future husband, & some best friends are just
made for each other than finding a husband to marry.

I think that is the commonsense response. But I see so many people in real life and on tv and movies talk about their fear that getting romantic with their best friend would ruin the friendship, so they stay away from them as romantic partners. TV and movies definitely lead people to make wrong choices too.

Nah, I wouldn’t marry again. My husband is my only best friend I know.
