Have any of you ever used the website called Meet Up to join in local activities of like-minded people? For example, if you are interested in photography, you can go to the website for your area and see if there are any photography events going on. My area is small so there are not a lot of opportunities for things going on posted on the Meet Up website. I find most of the local events posted on Facebook which is easier to deal with since I don't have to go to yet another website. If you have ever used the Meet Up website, how did it work out for you? meetup.com

My husband does with other like-minded photographers from Instagram and Flickr. They meet up in Melbourne CBD and do street photography.

I have used Meet up before, when I was an expat in the Middle East it was a great way to sign up for activities and socialise. They had everything from book clubs to salsa events. Its a great app.
