Today I went to the food bank. I cut across the shopping center parking lot like I always do, and at one point slipped and fell in the mud. A lady parking her car got out and asked if I was all right, and I said I was, though most of the left side of me was covered in mud and I knew that I was going to be sore tomorrow. When I got to the parking lot where they have the food distribution, I noticed that something else was going on at the other end of the parking lot. Later I was informed that it was a place set up for homeless folks to take showers (there was a big trailer there) and also get clothes if they needed them. At one point a lady came over from there and told me, even though there were lots of people waiting for the food distribution to open, that there was coffee and cookies over at the homeless help place if I wanted. It was a while before the food part was going to open, so I wandered over there. I did get coffee, and used it also as an excuse to get acquainted with a sweet German Shepherd that I saw wandering around over there. I went back to my spot in the food line, and then another lady came over a while later and told me I should change my pants because I was going to catch cold. The next thing I knew she was asking my size and if I would like sweat pants or jeans (like the covered in mud ones I was wearing). I told her either would be fine, and the next thing I know she's coming back with a pair of jeans and telling me to go change at the community center bathroom. So, I went. When I came back with the pants on (which were my size but very difficult to zip up) a gentleman in line offered me a seat in the folding chair he'd brought. I sat there until they were ready to open up the food distribution. While I was sitting there, another lady sitting by me and asked if I was hungry and did I want part of the empanada that had been handed out earlier. Whew. The line finally started moving, I got my food and headed home. I'm not a huge fan of being the center of attention, which it kind of felt like I was, but it was nice that folks could be like that, too. Now I'm home, the food is put away, and my pants and coat are in the washing machine so that I'll be sure to wash them the next time I do a load of laundry. I hope that all is going well with you in your part of myLot land!

You had quite the day. Everybody sounded so friendly and so concerned about you. I remember one time I slipped and feel in the mud one time. I hope you wont be too sore tomorrow.
