Are we living a Lie?

Often in common households, you might come across an array of questions. There’s constant pressure and reminder whether this is done or not, whether we’ve called up someone or not, whether the bill has been paid or not, whether the deadlines have been set or met or not, whether the plumber has been called or not, whether the payment has been made or not, whether the tickets have been booked or not and so on and so forth. It all starts with the school. When the parent asks for the report card, or when one has to think of an excuse not to go to school, the application invariably bears the mention of a death in the family. One day, a student was asked by the class teacher ‘Isn’t it just last week that your grandmother passed away?’ Pat came the reply, ‘Yes, that was my paternal grandmother. Luckily, the uncle came to pick him up from school that day. Then there’s the rapture of teenage and with the mind playing havoc on the heart, it's a different scenario. With freedom, the child grows up to study characters, and the weakness of each adult is played with. Value education has no merit in an immoral society. Try, truth and honesty in the court, you’ll see how the lawyer in the opposition badgers you with ‘yes’/’no’ questions. The engineering that goes into making false promises and redtapism shows how much of a lie we can live. Self-interest surpasses mass welfare. Self-propaganda, fame and fantasy blend to mask the coward within. A lie is intelligence gone wrong. Creative instinct drowns into determined destruction. Someone might counter me over here, ‘Why!! don’t we have the freedom to live our own lives, as we want?’ And immediately, ‘What about white lies? Talk of perception. What is lie to you, isn’t to me.’ Ah judgement!! Opinions do matter. Opinions are products of principles. Principles are born to mind-sets. Mindsets, narrow ones, lead to arguments. My answer: ‘White lie is truth in disguise.’ ‘Match-fixing, money swindling, forging, there’s adulteration in almost everything you can think of’. ‘But then, isn’t falsehood a steppingstone to success? You ask. ‘No matter what method you take, finally when the end is met, who bothers about the means?’ I mean, seriously!!! ‘Can you hide from yourself?’ ‘Just think for a moment, what if the doors of Heaven do not open for you? For all the confessions you’ve made for your wrongdoings, what even then you do not gain redemption?’ No answer. The answer somewhere lies in the system. From education to health the whole system is manipulated. Finance, sports, environment, every field is tampered with. Living a life of a lie isn’t easy. It takes a lot of thinking and imagination to stick to the original version of the story. ‘But life is an illusion’, you say. For which I have only one answer. Do you know if you are, too? Life is what you make of it and the way you live your life. Nice discussion.

Thank you. I absolutely agree. It has also got a lot to do with our well-being.
