Mark Baranko who is a captain with the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) was coming from grocery shopping in Greenwood Indiana on Tuesday morning when he saw a house on fire. Mark took action to rescue a female who was inside a second floor rear bedroom after her husband told Mark that his wife needed to be rescued. Mark who did not have any of his firefighting equipment on him entered the burning building which was filled with smoke to get to the bedroom and rescue the female who was out cold near the bedroom front door. Mark was able to get her out of the burning building before the White River Township Fire Department firefighters to take the female to a local hospital where she is in serious condition. No firefighters were injured in the fire that was put out quickly. I am sure that Mark was taken care of by the local firefighters after he was able to get out of the burning building. White River Township Fire Department Fire Chief Jeremy Pell praised Mark as a person that was willing to pass away doing his job to save the life of a fire victim. Link is msn.com/en-us/...
