I finished reading The New World Return to Treasure Island part 2 by Andrew Motion. It is the sequel to Silver Return to Treasure Island. Big Warning: lots of sad parts and some violence. Big Warning 2: there is weird ending. Spoiler below. In this book, Jim Hawkins Jr. and Natty arrive in Spanish America. Actually it's Texas. The boat is wrecked and everyone except them are dead. They try to bury the dead, but then Indians come. They take Jim and Natty to the village. Inside of being welcomed, they are thrown in a shed with a barely alive man. Their chief was not there so they had to wait. They were fed and had water twice a day. When the chief arrived, they killed the barely alive man. They finally decided to escape. They discovered the Indians took the silver that was on the ship. They took some shoes, clothes, and horses. Before they left, Jim stole the chief's necklace which was made of silver pieces and had carvings on them. (I would have liked have to that necklace too. But I don’t think I would have been brave as them to steal it.) So they leave. Then they find some more Indians. Those Indians were nicer and more welcoming. They stay with them for a long time. They end up finding out the chief of the other tribe was looking for them and the necklace. So they leave with the medicine man. They find another tribe which was in a sad shape. The chief's wife was really sick. Jim uses the necklace and heals the woman. They parts ways with the medicine man and they are supposed to follow the river, but they don't. A traveling side show meets them on a path. The side show boss convinces them to join them. Mainly Natty agrees to join because she likes the Indian with troupe. Jim gets really jealous of the "relationship" between the Indian and Natty. But the Indian saves their life by shooting an arrow at the Indian chief that is chasing them. They escape and they get to the Mississippi River. They meet a man who tell them that they can take a boat to New Orleans. The Indian that was with them decide to part ways with them. The boat arrives and they meet a couple who want to make it big in New Orleans. As they were going there, the chief shows up, but they got away quickly. In New Orleans, they find a ship that would take them to New York. Then the chief shows up again. Natty ends up killing the chief saying he would keep coming after them even if they give back the necklace. Jim doesn't think so. (I agree with him. I don't think he would keep chasing after them.) They leave to NY and then to England. In England, Jim discovers that his father is gone. I didn’t like the ending, but I liked the book. Now I'm reading Watchers by Dean Koontz.

Not really. It was 36 chapters long. But Watchers is a long book because Dean Koontz is long winded.

That sounds very interesting. It's been taking me a long time to read the book I'm reading at the moment. It's The Non-Born King by Julian May. It's got very small print and you really have to squint! Oh! Wouldn't you know it, I'm a poet!

@sharonelton Watchers is going to take me a long time to read. This morning I just begun chapter two. Dean Koontz and Stephen King are two long winded authors. But that is good thing.

@JESSY3236 Oh, I've read some Stephen King. I've read Tommyknockers, From a Buick 8 and Full Dark, No Stars, which is like a book of short stories. I really enjoyed those.

Thank you for the review and critique. I started a book; but it didn't catch my interest. I will get back to it one day. Have a good day.
