I went to get the mail, which wasn't too bad, and as I was walking home 1)I stopped to talk to a neighbor and 2) it felt like something blew into my eye. when I got home and looked at my eye, tried to pull my eyelids back to see, I couldn't see anything. I tried rinsing my eye out with water more than once, but it still felt like something was in there and it drove me nuts. Finally I called the doctor's office at the Health Center, and after some back-and forth they told me I could see a doctor who could "fit me in". Because I don't drive I went and caught the bus, and thought I got there at the time I was told on the phone, but the lady at the reception counter said I was supposed to see the doctor an hour ago. I explained to her that I don't drive and had to come there by bus, and she said she'd call the doctor and see what he said. I did wind up going in to see the doctor, who, after giving me an eye-chart test, looking in my eyes and even swabbing the edges of my eyelid a couple of times, he said that there were no scratches, though he did see a bit of mucous, and that I was evidently allergic to whatever it was that blew in my eye. He prescribed me some eyedrops, which I went down the hall to the health center pharmacy to get. I got the two medications that I previously ordered (so now I don't have to go there tomorrow) but I had to wait on the eyedrops a bit because I guess there hadn't been enough time and the eyedrops weren't ready yet. So, I had to wait a bit for them. After I finally got the eyedrops, I went and caught the bus to go home. Oi. What an afternoon--not one that I'd planned--but at least I don't have to go out and get the medication I ordered tomorrow.

Glad to know they got you in & got you set up with some meds & you got the meds you had ordered that saved you a trip 4-sure. That reminds me, I have some meds I have to pick up tomorrow myself.

@xstitcher When we go out like that hubby makes the trip where we don't back track or waste gas trying to find someplace we haven't been.

I hope the eye drops work. Allergy is a nuisance.

I'm glad it worked out. I'm glad they took you in even though you were an hour late.
