Pilot and co-pilot on Indonesia flight slept off

March 25, 2024 4:22am CST
passengers on a flight in Indonesia should count themselves lucky that one of the pilots on board woke up after sleeping for about 30 minutes leaving the aircraft to fly on automated mode. This could have been another disaster but we are grateful it was averted. Im sure the pilots will be punished.

On one hand I empathize with them for having to go through tremendous exhaustion under pressure. On the other hand, chide at their lack of control over sleep and a sense of responsibility. There can be other factors also, but they should never have taken the risk.
