Day 74 – Light Exodus 27:20 “You will command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually. 21 In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons will tend it from evening until morning before JEHOVAH. It will be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel. God’s name: JEHOVAH God’s character: Light Many people keep nightlights on during the night, so they don’t stumble in the darkness. After JEHOVAH gave Moses the instructions for the curtains and fittings for the tabernacle, He told him how to care for the light in the tabernacle. Most importantly, it was never to go out. Only the purest olive oil could be used for the light in the tabernacle. When you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, you accepted that He would get rid of the darkness in your life because He is the Light of the world. Jesus told the Pharisees He was the Light of the World. John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” With Jesus living in you, you have His light to guide you through a world of darkness. He is the light that lights your path. Psalm 119:105 NUN. Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. You know Jesus is the Word made flesh. His Word is a lamp to your life. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. (NKJV) You are to always keep the Light of JEHOVAH burning in your life. When you do you will not stumble in the darkness of the world but will see clearly what the enemy is doing to distract you and lead you away from the Light. When you do, people will see the Light that burns in you and glorify JEHOVAH. Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (NKJV) Never let the Light of Jesus Christ go out in your life. Keep it lit through the night hours. You do that by keeping JEHOVAH’S Word close to your heart and mind. Then Satan can’t bring trouble your way. Just as the light in the tabernacle never went out, the Light of Jesus Christ will never go out in your life when you read and study His Word. Let’s pray: Father, let Your Light guide me as I go through my day. Never let it go out but help me keep it lit so I will know when Satan comes against me because I will see him clearly. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 1 April 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.
