In Defense of A Friend (and Some Other Notes)

Recently, an online friend of mine was berated simply for some of his artistic characters having guns. They were just holding them, not even shooting anything. Anyway, I felt the need to defend him. I grew up with cartoon characters who had guns. (Remember Yosemite Sam, or Elmer Fudd,anyone?) and it never incited me to violence. A gun is a tool, in the hands of the evil, unstable, or irresponsible, problems arise, but such PEOPLE bear responsibility for those problems and it's time we quit scapegoating anything else. A gun in the hands of a balanced, decent,and responsible person could save a life.
