My Daddy's Flowers

My daddy died about five years ago. I miss him so much. He is perfect now. He is in heaven with Jesus. After a long, hard illness, he is now perfectly healed. However, for those of us left behind, there is still an emptiness and sadness. My daddy loved gardening. Even in bad health, he would get out there and garden. His back and shoulder was injured about twenty years before he died, but he would still try to garden. I have pictures of my babies outside, helping him in the flower beds. They made some sweet memories. Three years before he died, he and my mom moved their trailer onto our property. I am so glad I had them here with me. My three oldest kids were grown and married with homes of their own. But our youngest, who was a teenager, spent most of her time hanging out with my daddy. He became her best friend and she helped him in his vegetable garden and flower beds. When my oldest daughter came to visit, she would bring her daughter. So, my dad got to have his great-granddaughter (who was about 4 or 5) and her best friend out there helping him pick tomatoes and squash and bell peppers. What beautiful memories! He has been gone for some time, but every year his flowers return. I love this. I love to walk down to their trailer and see his flowers. He would be so happy to see them. He would be happy to know they bring us joy. Spend time with your parents and love them while you have them.

@gnatsmom The bottom looks same and leaves, but the top is what gives you the difference.

I love greens and yellows in the garden. So vibrant and lively.
