Getting the road wet

Philippines
April 26, 2024 1:15am CST
I've already seen three post here already relating to the hot weather in the country (Philippines). The tenants mostly just wet the water the floor just to lower the amount of heat every single noon. There was even a video about a household installed two sprinkles and pour water every hot afternoon. Except us here because we have the AC. But can't stay all day, I go home after night hours. Have a nice day

Everyone is trying to find ways to get rid of this intense weather. Our government just announced that schools will just have 2 days face-to-face classes and 3 days asynchronous/online classes.

Glad we have online classes available. How about those who couldn't afford the internet? Most public schools don't have AC.

@Letranknight2015 That's a valid concern. The shift to online classes has highlighted the importance of accessibility. Many public schools face lack of challenges like lack of air conditioning and limited resources, making online learning difficult for some students.

@annierose Online classes are a good option in above average temperatures. Kids' health is not compromised this way.

This is becoming a major concern in our country. High temperatures in recent days have disrupted many people's lives and businesses. Even schools have been suspended or have returned to online learning due to the extremely hot weather, which makes it difficult for students to learn effectively.

Such measures are needed to combat heat and keep the surroundings cooler. Yet more water usage can impact the availability of usable water in the coming times. AC is a must here especially as the mercury is hovering around 40 C and likely to go up.

@Letranknight2015 I read a report stating that many places in South amd South East Asia - Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Phillipines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and more are having above normal temperatures and many have heat waves. The situation is grim as it endangers public health.
