I know I have preached about this a ton. I have always been and probably always will be someone who believes every penny counts. I put the $11.98 pack of meat back for $11.22. I will pay in quarters for drinks or small purchases so I don't have to break my paper money. I have all the cash back apps and websites so that when I used the linked card or the app- I make a few cents to a few dollars whenever I shop. I use coupons. And on and on. A lot of you know that I do a lot of freelance writing, and "side hustle" apps on my phone, tablet and laptop where I earn anywhere from a couple cents per few minutes to play games to a couple dollars a day. Since we are watching this mud show and I am getting no my notifications I figured I would go ahead and turn one of my apps on, and see if I could earn a few more cents. I haven't really had time to play the games or watch the videos on it, but since the night is winding down and I should have plenty of time tonight I figured I Could. I was kind of surprised to see that I already have $0.22 in my earnings. Yeah that's not a lot. But it will add up. On this particular app, I switch between PayPal and Amazon for where I cash out. I have done four cash outs with them since I had to replace my phone and set up a new account and have cashed out for $2.70 on PayPal and $0.61 on Amazon. So not a lot, but I'll get there. Now that we aren't hotel hopping or any of that- I am going to start accruing some Amazon dollars and order some necessities on there. A lot of times I Can get stuff way cheaper with Amazon, and if I use my earned gift cards- then I am not spending cash. Anyway, this is just to say that EVERY single penny counts these days, and really every day.

@thislittlepennyearns LOL, I'd love to if I could. But I'm scraping for pennies. You have a flood, wow. that sucks.

@kaylachan I bet you're doing better than what we are. We have two laundry baskets, maybe two suitcases of stuff, the rest is ruined between the house and the storage unit. I was joking.

IF that's what you believe, you must have a sad existence.

I really like the way you framed this — it shows how small, steady choices add up over time. Putting back the pricier meat, paying in coins, using cashback apps, coupons, and side hustles may not look like much in the moment, but together they build a habit of intentional money management. That $0.22 in the app might seem tiny, but you’re absolutely right — those little amounts snowball. Four cash-outs, even if small, prove the system works, and redirecting them into Amazon for essentials is smart. It’s like you’re creating a loop where your side hustles directly support your necessities without touching your main cash. Your “every penny counts” mindset is practical, disciplined, and inspiring — especially in times when prices feel like they’re climbing everywhere. Would you like me to polish this into a short motivational piece you could share with others, like a blog or social post about frugal living?

I am with you in that every penny counts. I wish I could earn a lot more from sites. Can you suggest some.

I don't know what sites work there. A lot of the ones that work here probably don't work there. And some depend on your phone. Swagbucks works internationally.
